MedBillAnalyzer compares a medical bill with the Explanation of Benefits your insurer issued for the same care, and shows you where the two disagree — and what to ask the billing office about each one.

Why it exists
After a claim is processed, your insurer sends an Explanation of Benefits saying what the provider was allowed to charge, what the plan paid and what you owe. The bill from the provider is a separate document, and the two do not always agree. Comparing them by hand means matching codes, dates and amounts line by line, which is slow and easy to get wrong. MedBillAnalyzer does the matching and tells you what does not line up.
What it is, and what it is not
- It finds places where your bill and your Explanation of Benefits disagree, and gives you the words to ask about them.
- It does not negotiate, settle or reduce debts, and it does not contact your provider or your insurer for you.
- It is not legal, medical or financial advice. A difference between two documents often has an ordinary explanation, and the billing office is the one who can give it.

How it is paid for
The check is free, and shows how much is in question and the title of each finding. The detail behind the findings, a dispute letter and a phone script cost $10 for one bill, or come with a $10-a-month membership that covers up to 25 bills a month. If we find nothing, there is nothing to buy.
