How these guides are written

The guides on this site are written and maintained by the MedBillAnalyzer team at RMK Capital, Inc. Each one explains a single check the service runs on a medical bill, in plain English, for the person holding the bill.

Sources

Our standard is that every statement of law, rule, deadline or dollar figure traces to a primary source: a federal regulation on the eCFR, CMS or IRS guidance, or a state statute. Each guide lists its sources at the end, with the date we last checked them. Where a rule depends on your plan or your state, the guide says so rather than giving one answer for everyone.

How they are drafted

Guides are drafted with the help of AI writing tools and checked against the primary sources they cite before they are published. The checks themselves are not done by AI: they are fixed rules, and the methodology lists every one.

Reviews

Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed. We review a guide when a rule it cites changes, and at least once a year.

Independence

We do not run advertising, take affiliate payments, or accept money from hospitals, insurers, billing companies or debt collectors. The site is paid for by the $10 unlock and the $10 monthly membership, and by nothing else.

Corrections

If something in a guide is wrong, email support@medbillanalyzer.com with “Correction” in the subject. We fix confirmed errors, update the review date on the guide, and record the correction here.

Corrections so far: none.

The guides are general information, not legal, medical or financial advice, and not a statement about any particular bill.
